The parable of the Good Samaritan (Lk 10: 25-37) and the story of Martha and Mary (Lk 10: 38-42) acquire a particular relevance for us Rogationists, while we celebrate the year of the Priests.

Jesus said that to be perfect we have to love God "with all our heart, soul, strength and mind" and "our neighbor as ourselves". To let the people  understand who the neighbor is Jesus told the story of the Good Samaritan, that today points out for us Rogationists an important aspect of our consecration and ministry: to be sensitive to the needs of the poor, trhe marginalized, the outcast, the orphans and the abandoned, but also those in need spiritually. The experience then of Martha and Mary underlines that while we keep our eyes open on the needs of the people on the other side we have to keep our gaze on the Lord, listening to His Word.  St. Hannibal explained very well what it means to be Rogationists, that is to spend our time, energy and offer our love to the neighbor through action and to spend our time with the Lord through prayer. From this "Rogationist". The two aspects, PRAYER and ACTION, make us effective disciples of Jesus and true sons of St. Hannibal..
