The Fr Di Francia Center of Studies (FDFCS) community attended a Theologico-Pastoral Symposium on Good Governance as the Philippines is at new crossroads facing the climate of corruption prevailing in all sectors especially in the government, last October 4, 2009 in St. John Bosco Parish in Makati. The said symposium was organized by the Don Bosco Center of Studies, where the religious students are currently taking their theological studies. Three known personalities in their own respective fields had developed the theme Good Governance. From a biblico-theological perspective, Fr Francis Moloney SDB SThD, a biblical scholar who was former member of the International Theological Commision of the Holy See, expounded the Servant-Discipleship in the Gospel of St Mark as Good Governance. On the other hand, from a cultural anthropological perspective, Fr Albert Alejo SJ PhD, founder of EHEM! an educational program combating graft and corruption, discussed the Spirituality of Shared Integrity as Governance. Meanwhile, from a socio-political perspective, Mayor Sonia Lorenzo of San Isidro, Nueva Ecija, an advocate of participative governance shared her experiences as public servant with the theme: Political and Social Gains of Good Governance. Many theology students coming from various school of theology also attended.
