One of the first and most important duties of Priests and Consecrated Persons is to preach the Gospel to all by words and deeds. The pressing invitation of St. Hannibal to make the Rogate universal is nothing else than the answer to the Jesus’ request to “preach the Gospel to every creature”. The Gospel of the Rogate: what a great mission entrusted to us Rogationists and members of the family of the Rogate! It is in accomplishing this mission that, through many and holy Priests and Consecrated Persons, that peoples will come and know how much God loved them and gave His only Son for their salvation. It is through the preaching of the Word  and the Rogate particularly that the Community of faithful is formed. How do we carry out this commitment? Are we witnesses by the way we live the Vow of Rogate? Has the Rogate changed our lives? At times it seems that our preaching is useless, but if we are “Rogationists”, men of prayer, then our words will touch the hearts as well the minds of those with whom we deal with.  To preach the Gospel and the Rogate means to know Christ and to love Christ. Paul VI in the Evangelii Nuntiandi said: “The world is crying out for evangelizers to speak to it of a God whom the evangelizers should know and be familiar with as they could see the invisible” (76).  So while we just started the new year 2010 let’s try to see the invisible and experience his loving presence. This is the condition for preaching the Gospel and be “Rogationists” in action.
