Last February 2, 2010 we have celebrated the Day of Consecrated Life. During the celebration of the Vespers in S. Peters’ Basilica the Pope addressing to the Religious said that Consecrated Life “is a strong expression of God’s and man’s reciprocal search for one another…Consecrated people by the very fact of their experience, represent a kind of ‘bridge’ towards God for every one they meet…This is by virtue of the mediation of Christ, Who was consecrated by the Father. He is the foundation, He Who shared our frailty that we might share in His divine nature…May this year for Priests be a further opportunity for regular Priests to intensify their journey to sanctification and a stimulus for all consecrated people to accompany and support their ministry with fervent prayer”. These beautiful words of Pope Benedict XVI remind us, Rogationists, of our vocation and mission “to merit and prepare vocations to the kingdom of Christ” (see Paul VI). In other words we are called to deepen our daily friendship and intimacy with the Lord and our Confreres in order to be “bridges” towards God for every one we meet: Confreres, Superiors, Seminarians, Boys, Students, collaborators, poor…
Let us ask the Lord to give us strength and the knowledge to be always and in any place “Bridges towards God”.
