The readings which the Liturgy of the Church offers for our reflection during the Lenten season help us to discover our identity as servant leaders, having Christ as the point of reference.

Since the day of our Baptism . Religious Profession and Priestly Ordination Christ has consecrated us for service. Our prayer and apostolate, action and suffering, rest and work are a service to the Community and to the people of God.  Like Christ, who came not to be served but to serve and offer his life for the humanity (see Mt. 20:28) we are called to express ourselves as servants who work untiringly for the building up of the Kingdom of His kingdom on earth.

Our Rogationist vocation is a gift from the Father, so our lives, everywhere we are assigned, should be a giving of love. This requires balance, which is fruit  of an attitude of contemplation. Just because we are “men who serve” we must also be “men who pray”. Prayer nourishes the service and service demands that we should be permanently available and more, that our availability should be serene and joyful. To serve the Lord means to serve the Brethren! Like Jesus, who during the last supper washed the feet of the Apostles, we should serve our brothers and sisters answering to their needs with simplicity, humility and patient love.   This the way to follow Christ on his going to Jerusalem  where on the Calvary he offered totally himself for the good of all of us.
