It was an unusual occurrence for the Provincial Superior to participate in the celebrations of the Feast of the Most Holy Name of Jesus and the Grand Supplica in a local community other than his own. This year, Fr. Orville Cajigal, RCJ, the Provincial Superior, did the Canonical Visit to the St. Lawrence the Deacon Parish in Bangui, Ilocos Norte, from January 29-31, 2024, and so attended these liturgical festivities there. The blessing of the Chapel of Perpetual Adoration for Vocations was also scheduled on this occasion. The Daughters of Divine Zeal, from their two communities in Laoag, were present as well. The occasion of the Canonical Visit itself coincided with the formal Turnover of Office of the Responsible of the Missionary Station from Fr. Silvestre Robiñol, RCJ to Fr. Henry Ramos, RCJ. Fr. Orville also had a separate encounter with the members of the Parish Pastoral Council and the Parish Finance Council. Apart from moments of common and personal dialogues, and of prayers, which highlighted the short Visit, the visitors had the chance to see the recently blessed Church in Dumalneg and met with the leaders of the faithful in the area. Bro. Christian Allan De Sagun, RCJ, the Provincial Secretary accompanied Fr. Orville to document these encounters, and to check on the Archives of the Religious Community and of the Parish.
