Last Saturday, April 20, Magbokasyon 2024: Day Two was celebrated at the Fr. Di Francia Center of Studies, Paranaque City Philippines. Almost 400 young peple from the different parishes of the Diocese of Paranaque took part in the event. The occasion commenced with the Eucharistic Celebration on the memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary: Queen and Mother of the Rogate, presided by Father Provincial, Fr. Orville Cajigal, while Fr. Jose Ariel Tecson, Novice Master, delivered the homily. A short opening program followed, highlighting the presence of the young individuals and their Vicariates, and the members of the different Religious Congregations who joined to encounter them in the ‘booth hopping.’ Fr. Jeff Manlapig, the Vocation Director of the Diocese of Paranaque delivered the talk on ‘Prayer’ explaining it using the analogy of love. Before lunch break, the assembly prayed the Midday Prayers for vocations.
The afternoon program started with a Penitential Celebration, presided over by Fr. Jeff. Confession services and Group Sharing followed. Most of the attendees went to confession, and went to the Chapel of the Holy Spirit to pray and spend time with the Eucharistic Jesus. Walk with Mary: Rosary for Vocations was wholeheartedly prayed by the young people, journeying with Mary on the allotted stations within the grounds of the school (RC-P) and FDFCS. To end the Magbokasyon 2024, a ritual of commissioning and prayer was held. The attendees were asked to take part in the answering Jesus’ call to ‘Pray to the Lord of the Harvest, that he may send workers to his harvest’ and also spread awareness of the importance of this prayer, thus making them, in way or another, ‘apostles of the Rogate.’ Merienda was served as they went home to their respective homes and communities.
Magbokasyon is an annual event by the St. Matthew Province, especially in the Diocese of Paranaque, that seeks to reach out to young people in order to promote awareness of the Rogate and at the same time to celebrate the World Day of Prayer for Vocations.
