Convoked months ahead, the four-day General Assembly (April 8-11, 2024) was hosted by the Oasis of Prayer in Lalaan II, Silang, Cavite, with the St. Anthony’s Boys Village-Cavite also opening its Di Francia Auditorium to be the venue of the plenary sessions, given the extreme heat these days. A great portion of the encounter was inspired and guided by the synodal process of Spiritual Conversation - giving each one the chance to speak from his heart and to listen actively, which was preceded by prayer and reflection - yielding a manifesto, as a documentary fruit of the exercise. For this final day - following a Eucharistic Adoration for Vocations, it commenced with a “Vietnamese” Mass, presided over by Fr. Joseph Phan Hoang Nguyen, RCJ, with Fr. Joseph Hoang Xuan Huong, RCJ and Fr. Peter Hoang Van Dong, RCJ, among the main concelebrants, and Fr. Jose Maria Ezpeleta, RCJ as the homilist - even a selected group of lay collaborators and a missionary of the Rogate were given a moment to speak of concrete experiences being sharers of charism, which becomes an extension of the Conversation. These officially concluded the biennial gathering of the perpetually professed members of St. Matthew Province, with 90 of its 141 eligible religious participating.
