April 8, 2024 (Day 1). 

It was truly amazing that the first day of the SMP General Assembly 2024 fell on the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord. Thus, the activity officially began with the celebration of the Holy Mass at 11 o’clock in the morning, presided over by the Provincial Superior, Fr. Orville Cajigal RCJ. But prior to that, the religious attendees to the Assembly arrived early in the morning, others a day before, bringing with them goods from their respective communities. Other preparations were also done prior to the official start of the activity. Lunch was served right after the celebration of the Holy Mass.

In the afternoon, Fr. Marcelino Diaz II, RCJ gave his recollection input to the religious which centered on the topic ‘Rogate is Prayer [Life]’. To prolong the moment of silence, prayer, and introspection, a Eucharistic Adoration followed, simultaneous with the religious’ confession and was concluded with the Evening Prayers and Solemn Vespers. Afterwards, everyone gathered and enjoyed the sumptuous dinner which was followed by a socialization time – to reunite for stories, life updates and friendly games among the confreres.
