Fr. Aveni, during his life as a Rogationist religious and even after his death, serves as a strong reminder for each of us to strive to conform ourselves to Christ. He teaches us by way of preaching and example that our configuration to Christ, that holiness, is our supreme calling as an ordinary Christian and, above all, as consecrated persons.

Seeing the crowds, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and downcast, like sheep without a shepherd ... The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore, plead (ROGATE) with the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.” (Mt. 9:36-37; Lk. 10:2)
