Message for the 60th World Day of Prayer for Vocations

Happy Feastday!
We celebrate the 60th World Day of Prayer for Vocations. Holy Mother Church provides an opportunity for us to publicly proclaim the joy of being one with our Lord Jesus Christ. It is inevitable to remember a lot of life stories of people who were touched by the Lord and responded by giving themselves to the Lord and to His People through married life, single blessedness, Priesthood, and different forms of Consecrated Life. The foundation of all of these is the intimate relationship with Jesus which results in the experience of the fullness of life. Anybody who accepts the invitation of Jesus to journey with Him and do God’s Will receives the “gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Acts of the Apostles 2: 36ff.)

God offers what is best for us. We have to respond by doing the Will of God concretely in our lives. We have to take part in the continuous building of the Kingdom of God. We have to be actively involved in the ongoing transformation of the world to be God-centered, humane, and just.

In reality, there is a great need for more holy followers of Jesus, especially for the Priesthood and different forms of consecrated life. We would like to invite everyone to pray to the Lord so that He will send more and holy laborers in the Church. Please offer a prayer with us for this intention and the sanctification of the clergy and consecrated persons. When we participate in the Holy Mass, let us remember your respective Bishops, Priests, Deacons, and consecrated persons for their sanctity. Please pray for the young people who are called to the Priestly and Consecrated life that they will generously commit themselves to the Lord. Other forms of prayer are highly encouraged. Let us unite our hearts in prayer.

As we pray, we offer ourselves to the Lord and realize our vocation, namely, the Will of God for each of us.

Let us invite other people to join us in prayer and hope they will also offer themselves to the Lord.

Praying for all of you. Please pray for us. God bless us all.
