Shepparton, VIC Australia – 23 January 2025 – A significant ceremony honoring the transition of leadership within the local religious community was held recently at Cactus Country in Strathmerton, Victoria. The event was led by Fr. Rene Ramirez, who is preparing to take on the role of Auxiliary Bishop in the Archdiocese of Melbourne, alongside Fr. Ronald Masilang. They were joined by Fr. Addin Doe and Fr. Ruel Desamparado.
The ceremony began with important discussions regarding the Rogationists within the Diocese of Sandhurst. Topics included community life, their apostolic missions, and the financial situation of the congregation. The evening continued with vespers at St. Mel’s Parish Presbytery Chapel in Shepparton, during which Fr Rene Ramirez officially transferred responsibilities to Fr. Ronald Masilang. This moment was marked by the signing of an official turnover document by both fathers, along with their fellow clergy members, symbolizing a new chapter in community leadership. The event concluded with a communal dinner, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie as attendees reflected on their shared mission and future path.
