November 9, 2024 - The Rogationists St. Matthew Province is filled with gratitude for the gift of vocation to ministerial service in the Diaconal Ordination of our confreres: Rev. Aldine N. Colago, RCJ, Rev. Benny G. Caraos, RCJ, Rev. Roderick O. Fernandez, RCJ; and Priestly Ordination of: Fr. Lorie C. Abebenir, RCJ, Fr. Gilbert Ben I. Cantarona, RCJ, and Fr. Lloyd E. Villahermosa, RCJ through the hands of Most Rev. Ruben Labajo, DD, the Auxiliary Bishop of Cebu on the Feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica at the Archdiocesan Shrine of our Lady of Lourdes, Punta Princesa, Cebu City.
The solemn celebration, which began at 9:00 in the morning, was concelebrated by the Rogationist clergy, diocesan, and other religious priests who were instrumental in the vocation of the newly ordained. The ordination was witnessed by the family members, confreres, friends, and benefactors - all sharing in the same sense of gratitude to the Lord of the Harvest for the gift of vocations.
Bishop Labajo reminded them of their role as custodians of the temple of God in a very special way because of the ministerial service. Reflecting on the acronym PARI, Bishop Labajo shared that ordained ministers, especially priests, are men filled with these specific elements: prayer, availability, reverence to God, and becoming an inspiration to others. Fr. Orville Cajigal, RCJ, the SMP Provincial Superior, considers the event a firsthand experience of God's grace and goodness.
Lunch reception followed at the Rogationist Seminary-Cebu grounds.
Let us continue to pray that God may continually bless these chosen men and make them holy as they strive to serve the vineyard of the Lord.
