On All Souls Day, the Rogationists Community near Metro Manila and members of the Family of the Rogate gathered at Manila Memorial Park to remember the faithful departed.
The Holy Eucharist began at 3 PM, presided over by Fr. Chris Melvic RCJ. In his homily, Fr. Chris reflected on humanity’s aspiration for a better future, emphasizing that the readings of the day remind us of a reality we often avoid: the certainty of death. He strongly noted that while we may experience sadness and loneliness after a loved one's passing, Jesus assures us of life, love, and laughter beyond death.
Quoting Pope Francis, Fr. Chris stated, “Death is not an end; it is a passage towards eternal life.” He emphasized the importance of praying for the dead, reminding us that God does not reject those who come through Jesus and that we must cherish the gifts He has given us. Fr. Chris concluded his homily by remembering the Servant of God, Fr. Joseph Aveni, Fr. Bong Patiag, and Fr. Eric.
Let us continue to pray to the Lord of the Mystical Harvest, asking Him to send more holy laborers into His vineyard for the continued work of the salvation of souls. Amen.
