On the evening of August 14, 2024, Fr. Brizio Greco, RCJ, the General Treasurer, along with Fr. Orville Cajigal, RCJ, the Provincial Superior of the St. Matthew Province, arrived at the St. Hannibal Formation Center in Cebu. Fr. Mark Dante Quidayan, the Superior of the St. Hannibal Formation Center, fetched them at the airport. Upon their arrival at the community, they were welcomed and greeted by the seminarians and confreres, followed with a simple dinner and a get-together.
On August 15, 2024, the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the community began the day with Solemn Lauds, followed by breakfast. Fr. Brizio and Fr. Orville, together with Fr. Dante and Rev. Gilbert Ben Cantarona, toured Cebu City and visited the Gualandi community. In the evening, the Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Fr. Kristian Irvin Taok, RCJ, who was celebrating his 10th priestly anniversary. The Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Orville, Fr. Brizio, and other priests from the community. Those present, including seminarians, friends, benefactors, FDZ sisters, some faculty members of RSC-C, and other guests catered in the apostolate at the Gualandi community. Following the Eucharistic celebration, a dinner and short program were held to celebrate Fr. Kristian's priestly anniversary and to welcome Fr. Brizio and Fr. Orville.
Fr. Brizio expressed his gratitude to the community for their warm welcome and hospitality. He specifically addressed the seminarians and told them that they must discern well in the vocation they will choose.
On the morning of August 16, the community began the day with Lauds, meditation, followed by the Eucharistic celebration presided by Fr. Orville. After the prayer after communion Fr. Dante took the opportunity to express his gratitude to Fr. Brizio and Fr. Orville for their visit. As a gesture of appreciation, he presented them with a special token: a stole. One side of the stole was embroidered with the image of Santo Niño, symbolizing the 500 years of Christianity in the Philippines and reflecting the country's deep spiritual heritage. On the other side of the stole was the Rogate cross, highlighting the 50th years of the Rogationists presence in the Philippines.
At around 10 a.m., Fr. Brizio met with the Religious of the St. Hannibal Formation Center, with Rev. Gilbert serving as a translator for Fr. Brizio. Fr. Dante started the meeting with a prayer. Followed by Fr. Joseph Thinh presented the financial status of the community and of the Rogationist Seminary College-Cebu. Fr. Brizio in his presentation, presented that all reports of the congregation, including plans and reports, were being saved in cloud storage. He explained and encouraged the community to use online storage for all community files, ensuring a backup copy is available online and easy access for authorized persons.
The visit of Fr. Brizio and Fr. Orville concluded with a simple lunch and a blessing from Fr. Brizio Greco, RCJ.
