Born in Campodoro (Padua) on January 1, 1957, he entered the seminary of Padua and then the seminary of Desenzano sul Garda (Brescia) in 1968. In 1973 he entered novitiate in Zagarolo (Rome), and made his first profession the next year. From 1974 to 1979 he completed classical and philosophical studies. After a year of practical training in the seminary at Palermo, he completed the three-year institutional theological studies at the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome in 1983. In 1987, he received a Licentiate in Dogmatic Theology from the Theological University of Southern Italy in Naples.
After his priestly ordination in 1984, he worked in the formation of seminarians, first in Trani and then in Naples. In 1987 he was assigned to the Philippine Rogationist mission in Manila, where he worked initially as a Vocation Animator and then as educator in St. Anthony's Boys Village - Silang. From 1993 to 1999 he served as Superior of that Community and Rector of the “Rogationist Academy”.
In 1999 he was appointed Major Superior of the Philippine-Indian Delegation, which he held until 2010. At the Congregation's 11th General Chapter (2010) he was elected Councillor and Vicar General. At the next General Chapter, 2016, on July 21, he was elected Superior General.
At the 13th General Chapter, July 24, 2022, he was confirmed as Superior General for a second six-year term.
