  • Rogationist Priestly Alliance

    • 1. The Rogationist Priestly Alliance (RPA) or the Priestly Union of Prayer for Vocations (PUPV), founded by Saint Hannibal Maria Di Francia, distinguished apostle of prayer for vocations, on November 22, 1897, is an association of spiritual nature for ordained Ministers who wish to live the gift of prayer for vocations in communion among themselves and with the Rogationists and the Daughters of Divine Zeal.

      2. Inspiration and foundation of the Rogationist Priestly Alliance is the obedience to the command of Jesus: “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. Pray [Rogate] therefore the Lord of the harvest, so that he may send workers to his harvest” (Mt 9, 37-38; Lk 10, 2), lived according to the spirit and example of Saint Hannibal Maria Di Francia.

      3. The purpose of the Rogationist Priestly Alliance is to promote among bishops and priests the commitment to live and spread in the Church the priority of prayer in the pastoral care of vocations, in communion with the members of the Rogate Family (Rogationists, Daughters of Divine Zeal, Missionaries of the Rogate, and the Laity).

      4. The Rogationist Priestly Alliance proposes to its members:
          a. to pray for good workers to the Church and for the perseverance ad sanctification of those who received the vocation to the priestly and consecrated life;
          b. to spread this spirit of prayer so that it will become universal and to promote vocations;
          c. to be good workers of the harvest, sharing with the Rogationists and the Daughters of Divine Zeal a spirituality of communion, through the participation of the Rogate charism and mutual prayer for the fulfillment of the respective missions.
          d. to keep alive one’s own priestly vocation through this spirit of prayer, having as a model of life Saint Hannibal Maria Di Francia, who witnessed and was an apostle of this prayer.
    • The members of the Priestly Union of Prayer for Vocations commit themselves:

          a. to celebrate periodically (frequency to be determined) a Holy Mass for vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life and for the diffusion of the Rogate.

        b. to celebrate a Holy Mass periodically (frequency to be determined) for the charismatic mission of the Rogationists and the Daughters of Divine Zeal.

         c. to live one’s own ministry in the vocational dimension and promote the primacy of prayer in the pastoral care of vocations to the priestly ministry and to consecrated life.
    • Spiritual and Pastoral Benefits

      • Every month, a Holy Mass, “pro vivis” and “pro defunctis," is celebrated in the General Curia of the Rogationists and of the Daughters of Divine Zeal for the members of the Rogationist Priestly Alliance.
      • In the communities of the Rogationists and of the Daughters of Divine Zeal, a specific intention is prayed for the sanctification of the members of the Alliance, for the parishes entrusted under their care, for the seminaries of the Bishops and the Novitiates of Religious Institutes.
      • To deepen and share the spirituality of the “Rogate,” spiritual exercises and ongoing formation on prayer, biblical and theological-pastoral conferences on vocations are organized, with particular attention to the pastoral care of vocations to the priestly ministry and the consecrated life.
      • The community of the Rogationists and the Daughters of Divine Zeal are points of spiritual reference in the territory of the Members of the Rogationist Priestly Alliance, and they offer their services for youth animation and vocation ministry. Alliance Members may receive, upon request, publications from the local Rogate Center for Vocations.
    • Membership
